Antlers with SCOTS cap badge.

The SCOTS cap badge incorporates two prominent national symbols, the Saltire of St Andrew and the Lion Rampant of the Royal Standard of Scotland.  

Surmounted by a crown (The Crown of Scotland) the regiment’s motto “Nemo Me Impune Lacessit” was also the motto of four of the pre-existing Scottish regiments before the amalgamation into the Royal Regiment of Scotland.  It translates as No One Assails Me With Impunity.  This is the motto of the Order of the Thistle, Scotland’s highest order of chivalry.
